West Bay Beach : the Picture-Perfect Postcard First of all, West Bay is the most famous beach on the island and for good reason. With its soft white sand and crystal-clear water, it’s perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply watching the sunset. Moreover, the beach stretches along a calm, turquoise bay, inviting you to spend the entire day relaxing. Why do we love it? Because it’s easy to access, the coral reef is just a few meters from the beach, and bars, restaurants, and water activities are all around. 📸 Perfect for Instagram pics at sunset, with the sun sinking into the sea… In addition, you can easily find a hotel close to the beach ✨ Camp Bay: the Wild One On the other hand, if you’re looking for peace and authenticity, Camp Bay is ideal. Located on the island’s far east side, it is far less touristy. There are no crowds, no loud music. Instead, you’ll enjoy nature, the sound of the waves, and palm trees to nap under. Why do we love it? Because it’s authentic, quiet, and untouched; it gives off deserted island vibes, and finally, it’s great for picnics and disconnecting from everything. 💡 Bring some snacks, as there aren’t many restaurants nearby but if I could stay the night, I’d definitely choose Camp Bay Lodge. Half Moon Bay : Local and Expat Favorite Located right in the heart of West End, this crescent-shaped bay is a popular hangout for both travelers and locals. People come here to swim, sip cocktails while watching the boats, or snorkel right off the beach. If you need gear, we recommend this complete kit : fins, snorkel and mask! Why do we love it? Because it has a friendly and social atmosphere, plenty of beachfront bars and cafés, and it’s also close to the West End nightlife. 🌅 As a result, it’s ideal to kick off your evening or enjoy a sunset drink. Sandy Bay : Sunsets and Snorkeling Although less known than West Bay, Sandy Bay is just as beautiful. It’s home to a peaceful expat community and charming hotels. As such, it’s a quiet and serene spot to enjoy breathtaking sunsets. Why do we love it? Because it offers great snorkeling, it’s more peaceful than West Bay, and it provides incredible views at sunset. One useful tip : You can go directly to the beach by car! 🚗 Secret Spots and Hidden Beaches Roatán also hides secret beaches only accessible by boat or through hidden trails.
